An Art of Building Purpose

The mandala: a circular structure made with sand, stone, grain, and flowers with the intention of connecting with the world, the universe, a higher sense of being.
Building mandalas is an ancient spiritual practice, but the fundamental essence, that is, gathering earthly elements and arranging them in a beautiful manor which speaks to you, holds purpose in our modern times.
As I’ve mentioned before on this platform, taking time to experience the world around us, and hold nonjudging awareness for the world within us, should be a top priority. Unfortunately, our Western social expectations have defined terms like production and meaning as being linear, noncreative, numerical, and usually economically incentivized. Today, it takes effort to reroute our perception individual purpose.
Making the effort to foster a strong intrapersonal presence can begin with the simple act of mandala-ing.
Trust that you will construct something of awe, which represents the location you are physically in as well as the inherently imaginative mind you were born with.
It’s a simple concept, but connecting the outer world with the inner has a dramatic effect on our sense of wellbeing and intention.
Holding regular space with your heart, mind, and environment translate to increased levels of empathy and understanding of others. And isn’t that what we all need nowadays?
